In over twenty years of photographing women across the south of England, I have heard the exact same quiet confession hundreds of times:
“I haven’t had my photograph taken properly since my wedding day thirty years ago,” or “I always volunteer to take the family photos so I don't have to be in them.”
We spend decades nurturing children, supporting partners, building careers, and caring for aging parents. In the process, women often quietly step into the background, allowing their own visibility to fade.
The 50 Over 50 Project is my personal artistic rebellion against that invisibility. My goal is to capture 50 extraordinary women over the age of fifty before 8 February 2030, and celebrate their life stories through museum-grade fine art portraiture.
This is a commission-free artistic campaign. There are no session fees, no minimum spend requirements, and no high-pressure sales presentations. Every participating lady receives her complete high-resolution digital image collection with our compliments as part of building the landmark 2030 Gala Exhibition and art book.
Bring your loved ones: This session is a triumphant celebration, never something to hide away or feel embarrassed about. Bring your best friend, adult daughter, or sister. We will pop open the prosecco, put on your favorite music, and celebrate your life milestone together!
